We hear it every year. New year, new you. While it is great that we have a re-set reminder at the first of a new year (and in this case a new decade for more pressure), ask yourself, do you really need a brand new you or just a better you? It is easy to over focus on what we want to change and not balance that with what we want to embrace. There are without a doubt, areas of your life that don’t need a complete makeover and qualities about you that those around you enjoy and embrace. As you take advantage of the new-found energy that comes with the changing of the calendar, get clear on what you want to keep and what you want to leave behind. As you go after the best you, remember a few things:
- Get clear on what you want
- Define areas you want to transform
- Set some achievable goals
- Have accountability
- Be gentle with yourself
- Embrace positive qualities you want to strengthen
- Identify places of satisfaction you want to lean into
- Know you are always a work in progress
New Year, Best you.
